In recent years, there has been a growing public interest in products designed to achieve an even skin tone and address issues related to freckles or uneven pigmentation. Whitening and anti-freckle products primarily function by reducing the concentration of melanin in the skin. They typically target larger areas of the skin or specific irregular regions, often called melanin spots to achieve a more uniform skin tone.
The production of melanin in the human body is a highly complex physiological process governed by various enzymes. Among these, tyrosinase plays a pivotal role in initiating melanin production; it is involved in the critical rate-limiting step of melanin synthesis, occurring twice during the entire process.
As a result, Protheragen-ING offers an in vitro testing method to assess a product's ability to inhibit tyrosinase. This evaluation helps determine the effectiveness of whitening and removal of freckles. The primary instrument used for this test is a microplate reader.

Based on the product's purpose and client objectives, our experts design an appropriate testing plan.
Using equipment such as a microplate reader, we set up a control group (used to determine the basal activity of tyrosinase) and an experimental group (used to evaluate the impact of the product on tyrosinase activity) to assess the product's ability to inhibit tyrosinase, a key factor in melanin synthesis.
We gather all relevant data from the conducted tests, ensuring precision and accuracy. Then generate a comprehensive analysis report that includes test results and any additional measurements requested by the client.
We maintain open communication with clients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding the testing process and results.
In addition to the above tests, Protheragen-ING offers a qualitative and quantitative analysis of various individual compounds known for their whitening and freckle-removing effects. These compounds include niacinamide, vitamin C, arbutin, tranexamic acid, phenylethyl resorcinol (377), astaxanthin, and more.
