TNFSF13B

Genus
Human
Source
HEK293 cells
Synonyms
BLyS, CD257, TNFSF13B, TNFSF20, TALL-1, BLys, THANK, BAFFB-cell activating factor, ZTNF4
Description
The human BAFF protein, or B-cell activating factor, is a crucial cytokine that plays a significant role in regulating the immune system and promoting B-cell survival and maturation. BAFF is primarily produced by immune cells, including monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It binds to specific receptors on B cells, allowing their development and preventing apoptosis (cell death). BAFF also influences the production of antibodies and helps regulate the balance of different B-cell subsets.
Molecular Weight
Approximately 18.12 kDa.
Purity
> 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Biological Activity
Human BCMA, His tag immobilized on CM5 chip can bind BAFF, His tag, with an affinity constant of 1.55 x 10-9 M as determined in a SPR assay (Biacore 8K).
Endotoxin
< 0.1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered concentrated solution in PBS.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge tubes before opening. Dissolve lyophilized protein with PBS. Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities when first used and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Note
10, 100, 500μg
