Description

It is widely used in oral and topical medicines. Mainly used as a lubricant for tablets and capsules. It also can be used as an adhensive for tablet coating in combination with shellac. It also can be used as a sustained-release carrier. In topical preparations, stearic acid is used as emulsifier and solvent-enhancing agent, it is hardener in glycerin suppositories.
