Application
Blood serum albumin is a single polypeptide chain of 585 amino acids containing seven disulfide bonds, mainly used as an excipient in parenteral pharmaceutical formulations and as a stabilizer in preparations containing proteins and enzymes. It is also used as a cosolvent for parenteral drugs, as a cryoprotectant during freeze-drying, and to prevent other proteins from adsorbing to the surface.
