The Importance of RIPT

RIPT is widely used to evaluate the potential adverse effects of cosmetic products on the skin. It involves repeated application of the product or its ingredients to the skin under the occlusive patch for a specified period of time.

For frequently used cosmetics, RIPT is more valuable. Because some chemicals do not cause irritation when exposed to the skin once, but multiple exposures may cause strong irritation.

RIPT helps identify any potential irritation or allergic reactions that may occur upon repeated exposure to assess whether a cosmetic product may cause cumulative irritation or allergic contact dermatitis. Its test cycle is longer.

HRIPT Experiment Process

HRIPT consists of 2 and sometimes 3 phases.

The first phase is the induction phase, in which the test material is applied to the skin under the occlusive patch 9 times (repeated regularly) over 3 weeks. This is followed by a two-week rest period before the skin is exposed to the product again in the second or induction phase.

Phase II reactions are usually allergic, and Phase III is used to verify and better define the reaction.

Skin reactions are graded according to a standardized scoring system, and the results are interpreted by a Protheragen-ING dermatologist or allergist.

Whether you need a simple safety test on 50 or 200 subjects, Protheragen-ING is ready to help.

In addition, Protheragen-ING also provides primary stimulation. The primary stimulus was a single 48-hour exposure patch test with 50, 100, or 200 subjects.
