E.coli
Synonyms
IGF-I, IGF1A, somatomedin C, MGF
Description
IGF-1, also known as insulin-like growth factor 1, is a protein that plays a crucial role in growth and development. It is produced mainly by the liver and other tissues in response to growth hormone secretion. IGF-1 is a vital protein in human physiology, contributing to growth, development, and maintenance of various tissues and metabolic processes.
Molecular Weight
Approximately 8.6 kDa.
Purity
> 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Biological Activity
The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using serum free human MCF-7 cells is less than 1 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.0 × 106 IU/mg. Fully biologically active when compared to standard.
Endotoxin
< 1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered concentrated solution in PBS.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge tubes before opening. Dissolve lyophilized protein with PBS. Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities when first used and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Note
10, 100, 500μg
