HGF

Genus
Human
Source
CHO Cells
Synonyms
Scatter Factor (SF), Hepatopoietin (HPTA)
Description
Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) is a potent, mesenchymal-derived mitogen of mature parenchymal hepatocytes and acts as a growth factor for a wide range of tissues and cell types.HGF signals through the transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor of the MET.The functions of HGF include the induction of cell proliferation, motility, morphogenesis, inhibition of cell growth, and the enhancement of neuronal survival.HGF is a Crucial mitogen, especially after partial hepatectomy and other liver injuries.HGF, also known as scattering factor and hepatopoietin A, is a pleiotropic protein in the fibrinogen subfamily of S1 peptidases.
Molecular Weight
88~90 kDa (single chain), 59~61 kDa (alpha chain), 30~34 kDa (beta chain), on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Appearance
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity
> 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Biological Activity
ED50 < 10.0 ng/ml, measured in a cell proliferation assay using 4MBr5 cells, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.0 × 105 units/mg.
Endotoxin
< 0.2 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Formulation
Lyophilized after extensive dialysis against PBS.
Reconstitution
It is recommended to centrifuge the vial briefly before opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Resolve the lyophilized powder in ddH2O or PBS to 100 μg/ml. For long term storage, it is recommended to add carrier protein (e.g. 0.1% BSA).
Note
10, 50, 100, 500μg, 1mg
