Description

BMP-7 is a member of the TGF-β superfamily which is supposed to be one of the most potent anabolic factors of chondrocytes. The growth factor domain of human BMP-7 shares 98% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat BMP-7.

The protein has a predicted 13.1 kDa.

Purity

> 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Biological Activity

Determined by its ability to induce alkaline phosphatase production by ATDC-5 cells.
The expected ED50 for this effect is 20-40 ng/ml.

< 1 0EU /mg of the protein by the LAL method.

Formulation

Lyophilized from a 0.22 μm filtered solution containing 0.085% TFA, 30% ACN,5% mannitol.

Reconstitution

Centrifuge the tube before opening. It is recommended to redissolve in 4 mM HCl.
